Baking with Audrey has always been something I love to do! Ever since she was about 6 months old she has been a part of my kitchen. She would sit in her high chair and chew on measuring spoons watching me cook. She has always loved it!! Now I have two little girls in the kitchen and I’m loving it!!!!❤️
There is a reason homes now have an open kitchen concept. It’s where families come together and is the HEART OF THE HOME. The kitchen is where my daughter and I have had some of our best conversations! It’s where she tells me her secrets, her worries and her triumphs. Our days are so busy and full of rushing here and there, but when we get in the kitchen it’s like time stops and nothing else in the world matters. We’re just spending time together creating memories, and hopefully one day she will create memories with her kids in the same way.
So many moms have told me they are reluctant to let their kids help in the kitchen because it’s so stressful and messy....and yes it is sometimes!!😉. That’s why I LOVE this recipe from the book “Bringing Up Bebe” by Pamela Druckerman. This is a super kid friendly recipe that doesn’t require exact measurements and is delicious!! It’s become a family favorite!
Ingredients
2 6oz containers of plain Greek yogurt (use containers for measuring the rest of the ingredients)
2 eggs
2 containers of sugar
1 tsp vanilla
just under 1 container of vegetable oil
4 containers of flour
1 1/2tsp baking powder
*optinal ingredients: 2 containers of chocolate chips, strawberries, blueberries, peaches or any other flavor you like. Our favorite is strawberry!
Preheat oven to 375.
Combine wet ingredients. In a seperate bowl combine dry ingredients. Mix together the dry and wet ingredients. Add your add-ins last. It’s delicious just plain too though. Pour into greased 9 inch round pan or loaf pan.
It says bake 35 minutes but I find mine takes more like 50-60 minutes. It‘s done when a toothpick comes out clean.
Serve with creme fraiche or powdered sugar
