Growing Healthy Kids

šŸ…šŸŒ½šŸ†I love giving my family fresh veggies, but I am NOT a gardener! I have the brownest thumb. I once killed an aloe plant šŸ˜³šŸ˜‚. ā €

Soooo....in the past weā€™ve always done a community garden with our neighbors!! We help plant and water but thereā€™s no expertise needed! Itā€™s great to see us all come together to grow something so beautiful and delicious!!ā €

By including the kids, they learn the process of where our food comes from. Did you know there are many kids that donā€™t know where French fries come from?!? I was floored when I found this out! Growing up in the country, we always had a garden, so it never occurred to me that there are kids that donā€™t get to experience that! Just because you donā€™t grow up in the country doesnā€™t mean you canā€™t grow some things for your family to eat, though! There are tons of little growing kits you can get and grow on your porch that doesnā€™t take much room. Even some simple hanging tomato plants or potted herbs provides that experience. Itā€™s amazing what they can learn from a simple garden! The best part? They get to enjoy eating what they helped grow!!! Surprisingly, they are far more likely to try vegetables and actually LIKE them when theyā€™re part of the growing process! šŸ™ŒšŸ»

What veggies do your kids love? šŸ…šŸŒ½šŸ†ā €
