Shop His Closet

What‘s the thing you love most about fall? For me it’s the crisp air and warm colors of the changing leaves that makes everything so cozy. There’s nothing better than cozying up to a bonfire with s’mores or a hot cup of coffee by the fire.

You know that I rarely wear sweats but I want to be comfortable in this cozy season. That’s why I shop my hubby’s side of the closet when it gets chilly out. Now I don’t mean his old t-shirts. I‘m looking for something a little cuter. Old sweaters and button downs are perfect if you style it right. Style them with feminine accessories and you have some cute cozy styles for fall.

THE OVERSIZED SWEATER

This sweater (pictured above) makes the perfect sweater dress when paired with knee high boots and some statement earrings. A wide brim hat is always a cute accent with sweaters too. When looking for a sweater to wear as a dress size up at least two sizes, and find one that hangs straight or slightly cinched at the bottom. Typically a light or medium weight sweater works best. Push up the sleeves a tad so it doesn’t look sloppy.

THE FLANNEL SHIRT

This is the easiest to find in the men’s department. There are tons of colors and patterns you can play with. Look for one in the same size you wear unless you want to make it a dress. (Which is super cute too.)

I just tucked this one in on one side to keep it from looking baggy. If it’s still too long you can tuck just a little of the other side into your pocket. This keeps an asymmetrical look. Keep the sleeves buttoned and roll them until they’re at a comfortable length and then scrunch up on your arms. Pair with denim shorts or jeans, booties and of course a pop of color in some earrings. Oh yeah...and that wide brim hat again. 😉

If you don’t have pieces like this already in your closet I’ve linked some similar styles in LIKEtoKNOW.it

Thanks Shawn for letting me shop your side of the closet💕
