I always love strawberry flavors this time of year. With the 4th of July coming up it’s the perfect dessert for barbecues!! 🇺🇸
Ingredients
Cake
White cake mix
3oz strawberry jello
1 c frozen strawberries puréed or mashed
1 c vegetable oil
1/2 c whole milk
4 large eggs room temperature
Frosting
8 oz cream cheese room temperature
1/2 c butter room temperature
6 c powdered sugar
2 T whole milk
1/4 c frozen strawberries puréed
Mix all cake ingredients thoroughly. Pour into two 9” round greased cake pans. Bake at 350 for 28-30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. This is a very moist cake so it may not look done. Always test with a toothpick.
* For cake pans use butter (not cooking spray) and dust with sugar. This makes the cake pop out perfectly without sticking!
For frosting, cream butter and cream cheese until smooth. Add milk and strawberry purée. Then slowly add in powdered sugar until stiff. You may use more or less powdered sugar depending on the humidity in the air.
For easy frosting, freeze your cake layers. Top with sparklers for an impressive dessert show!!!😄
