If you are a parent, chances are you spend a good deal of time lifting, bending and moving up and down with your kids. At the end of the day you can really feel the repercussions of those movements. I have found that some simple yoga poses help stretch my sore muscles and ease my back and hip pain (most common complaint areas of moms).
Here are my favorite yoga poses for my everyday aches and pains:
(Left to right, top to bottom)
1. Cat
2. Supine
3. Downward facing dog
4. Bound angle (favorite for hips)
5. Pigeon
6. Sphinx
7. Cow
8. Knees to chest (slowly rock side to side)
You definitely don’t have to do all of these to reap the benefits, but of course the more you do the better you will feel!! Not to mention its great for the mind and spirit to take a little time for yourself to make a happier and healthier you!!!😄
These are also great poses for winding down in the evening. Stretching those sore muscles helps me to sleep better because it eases the tension from the day.
*Bonus- have your kids do it with you. Just 5 minutes can help them feel better too! My daughter loves doing yoga with me😄.
